Communication Labs Seminar: Structured Programs for School-Wide Speech/Language Success

An interactive, half-day session with Carrie Clark, CCC-SLP, live on Zoom with your team. Give your whole staff one structured program to run.

Your SLPs and SLPAs walk away with everything they need to set up a structured program in your schools, one that supports every student with speech, language, and communication needs. No more chaos. No more guessing.

Sound familiar?

Every SLP in the district is running a different system.

Not because your team isn't skilled. It's because nobody ever handed them a shared structure. So every building reinvents it, every new hire starts from scratch, and the data never lines up.

Onboarding takes a year

New SLPs and SLPAs spend their first year figuring out how things are done here, instead of treating.

Data you can't compare

Ten therapists, ten data systems. Nothing rolls up to a district-level picture you can act on.

Prep time nobody has

Hours a week hunting for materials and building plans that someone, somewhere, has already built.

What your team will learn

Half a day in. A working program out.

This isn't a lecture your team sits through. It's a working session. They build the structure while we're together.

The Communication Lab model

A third way to deliver therapy in schools. Groups work through the same lesson at the same time, while the SLP or SLPA supports each student's own goals. Bigger groups, faster progress, far less prep.

The six Labs

Speech Sound, Language, Social, Fluency, Voice, and Functional Communication. Your team learns what each Lab covers, how often it meets, and which students belong in which one.

The session routine

Every session runs the same simple way. Goal packet on the table, themed activity beside it, teach the next page to everyone, individualize the support as you go.

Choosing goal packets and targets

How to pick the one packet that matches where a group actually is, then step up or down as students progress. Your team leaves with the full catalog, Lab by Lab.

A schedule you build once

Build Labs around groups of need, block them into the master schedule, and stop reworking it every few weeks. No capped group size, so you add staff instead of splitting groups.

The indirect week

Labs meet three weeks a month. The fourth week is for classroom observations, teacher and family consultation, and progress monitoring. That is where carryover actually happens.

Data collection that holds up

One shared tracker and one rating scale across every building, so progress, dismissal, and eligibility decisions are backed by something you can show.

Transitioning your caseload

Nobody overhauls everything at once. Find one natural group, start one Lab, and run a quick IEP amendment when minutes need to change. We walk through that phone call step by step.

The half day

How we'll spend the morning together

Four working blocks with breaks, built straight from the Communication Labs Program Guide. We schedule it on a date that fits your PD calendar.

1
The Lab model, and who fits it

The three ways to deliver therapy in schools, where Communication Labs fit, and the honest part: which of your students still need individual or smaller-group time instead.

2
Your six Labs and the packets to run

We map your real caseload onto the six Labs, then choose the goal packet that matches where each group actually is today.

3
Building the schedule, running a session

The session routine step by step, how to staff bigger groups, clustering the five-minute speech sound sessions, and blocking Labs into the master schedule so they stay put.

4
Data, the indirect week, and your transition plan

The shared data tracker, the monthly indirect services menu, and a written plan for launching your first Lab. We close with open Q&A on your real students and schedules.

Who this is for

Teams, not solo clinicians.

School districts

Special ed directors who want consistency across buildings without micromanaging it.

Special ed co-ops

Serving several districts with one team, and needing one shared way of working.

Mixed-experience teams

Veteran SLPs, first-year hires, and SLPAs who all need to be on the same page.

Districts that hire every year

If onboarding starts from zero each fall, a structured program is the fix.

Probably not a fit if you're a solo SLP looking for CEUs. Our on-demand courses are a better place to start.

Carrie Clark, CCC-SLP
Your presenter

Hi, I'm Carrie Clark, CCC-SLP.

I've been a speech-language pathologist for 18 years. I've worked in the schools, in early intervention, and in my own private practice, so I know what a real caseload looks like on a Tuesday afternoon.

For 16 of those years I've been building tools for other SLPs. My superpower is taking current research and breaking it down into therapy plans you can actually follow, then organizing and simplifying everything around them. What started as a blog in 2012 has grown into programs that have helped tens of thousands of speech and language professionals around the world.

I'm a bit of a nerd who loves twenty-sided dice and garden gnomes, and I've always believed that no matter how hard a challenge looks, there's a way through it. In this seminar I bring that structure straight to your team, live, and shaped around the students you actually serve.

Off the clock you'll find me gardening, crocheting, hanging out with my husband and two boys, and conspiring with friends to make the world a more fun place. 🌼

What SLPs say afterward

“Carrie always has useful ideas and very practical suggestions. I have used many of her suggestions and they make my job smoother. It has also been helpful to know that we aren't just an island of one.”

“We have a better sense of purpose and more importantly, a path forward to impact students. Thank you so much.”

“I absolutely love the SLK Curriculum. I have been an SLP for over 20 years... I wish I had this when I started.”

“I feel so much relief knowing that I don't need to reinvent the wheel and that I can provide not only myself, but my client's parents with a clear path towards his treatment plan.”

Questions

The things districts ask us first

Will my team earn professional development hours for this?+

Yes! We offer a certificate of completion for every participant. Please keep in mind that these are NOT ASHA CEUs, as we do not participate in the ASHA CEU program. However, these hours do count as professional development hours and are accepted by ASHA for certification maintenance. Please check with your state or other licensing organization to find out if this type of certificate is accepted.

How do we pick a date?+

You book first, then we schedule. Once you've purchased or your PO is in, we'll reach out to find a half day that fits your PD calendar.

How many people can attend?+

Bring your whole speech and language team: SLPs, SLPAs, and anyone who supports the program. The curriculum add-on covers up to 25 individual seats; if your team is larger, ask us for a quote.

Can we pay with a purchase order?+

Yes! POs are welcome and common. All the details your business office needs are in the "Pay by purchase order" panel above, and we'll send a W-9 the same day you ask.

Is it really live, or a recording?+

Fully live on Zoom, with Carrie in the room with your team the whole half day. It's interactive by design, so your team works on your program, not a generic one.

Is this program evidence based?+

Yes! The Speech and Language Kids resources are based on many established evidence-based methods.

Our SLK Curriculum and resources are grounded in research and developed with real-world therapy in mind. We blend evidence-based practices with easy-to-implement tools that help SLPs deliver therapy that's effective, efficient, and affirming, for all types of communicators.

What happens after the year of curriculum access?+

You can renew for another year at team pricing, or stop. The program your team built and the guides they received are yours to keep either way.

Give your team one system to run, and a morning to build it.

No more chaos. No more guessing. Just a structured program your whole district can follow.

Credit card, purchase order, or a custom quote. Whatever works for your district.
